First International Workshop on Earthen Architecture, World Heritage

“ Lessons to learn from ruins ”

Fahraj , Iran, 2019

Fahraj, located adjacent to Yazd, lacks the protection afforded by the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. Consequently, it suffers from inadequate maintenance. Numerous structures, left unused or neglected, are slowly succumbing to the passage of time, gradually returning to the earth. A stroll through the city offers a profound learning experience as one observes these remnants of the past.
